Sisterhood is the organization of the women of the congregation who come together for fellowship and friendship, for programs to benefit the community, for social activities and for the personal growth of individual woman.
Sisterhood is the collective presence, voice and strength of women within the structure of the congregation. It is the place where women can meet and work together for the congregation and develop projects in which they are interested and wish to be involved.
Sisterhood welcomes and needs women from the congregation for their leadership, energy and a desire to work and get involved. There is room for everyone whether they work or stay at home, whether they are in their 20’s or 70’s, whether they have a little or a lot of spare time.
Sisterhood welcomes new members. There are many ways to get involved. Board meetings are usually held every other month on Sunday mornings, open to any Temple member who would like to attend.
Temple Israel Sisterhood Gift Shop
The Sisterhood Gift Shop is open Friday evening after services and by special appointment. Seder Plates, Menorahs, Mezuzahs, Jewelry, Neat Judaica, Wedding, Chanukah and Holiday Gifts. Come see all the exciting new things! Most items discounted 10 – 20%. Call Ricki, Renee or Marsha for an appointment by contacting the Temple at (330)762-8617.

WE LOVE OUR KIDS WHO LIVE AWAY FROM HOME!
The Sisterhood College Box Program
For many years, Sisterhood has sent Chanukah and Passover goodie boxes to our college and high school boarding students in the fall and again at Passover. Don’t let your child be left out! He/she would love a box of goodies from Temple!
These boxes are sent only to members’ children within the USA.
Please call or write the office with your child’s name, complete school address and winter & spring break schedules. This must be received by November 16th for the Chanukah mailing. For those students attending schools that are closed in December, a box will be mailed in January.
For further information or questions, contact Patti Margolis. Email: psm651ATyahooDOTcom

Temple Israel Sisterhood is a member of Women of Reform Judaism, The Federation of Temple Sisterhoods, representing 100,000 women in 600 local Sisterhoods throughout the United States, Canada and thirteen other countries. WRJ is the women’s agency of the Union of Reform Judaism, the central body of Reform Judaism in North America.
Check out WRJ’s (Women of Reform Judaism) new user friendly website, www.womenofreformjudaism.org. One of the new items is the E card. If you send a Mazel Tov, Tree of Life, Chai Note, or the updated Uniongram E card, our Temple Sisterhood will get the credit for your $2.50 contribution to the YES Fund (Youth, Education and Special Projects) to help us achieve different Honor Roll Levels. This fund helps provide financial assistance to rabbinical and cantorial students, our youth and organizations throughout the Reform Jewish Movement. Help the Sisterhood reach the YES Fund Honor Level.
