Temple Israel Sisterhood

The Heart of Our Temple
We serve our Temple Israel family
and support our community
with our collective presence,
voice, and strength.

Sisterhood is the organization of the women of our congregation who come together for fellowship and friendship, for programs to benefit the community, for social activities, and for the personal growth of each individual woman.

Sisterhood welcomes you for your leadership, energy, and a desire to get involved. If you're not already a member, please join by visiting the Membership page.

Sisterhood board meetings are open to all sisterhood members and all are welcome and encouraged to attend. Our meeting dates and times are shown on Temple's calendar. Members can see our meeting minutes here.

Sisterhood

Sisterhood is the place where women can meet and work together for the congregation and develop projects in which they are interested and wish to be involved.

Sisterhood is grateful for members' leadership, energy and desire to work and get involved. There is room for everyone whether you work or stay at home, whether you are in your 20’s or 70’s, whether you have a little or a lot of spare time.

Sisterhood welcomes new members. There are many ways to get involved. Board meetings are usually held every other month, and all Sisterhood members are welcome to attend.

Sisterhood Works on Behalf of the Congregation:

  • Provides gifts for confirmands and B’nai Mitzvah.
  • Sends care packages to college students.
  • Donates to the Cantor Gedaliah Gertz Education Center (Temple Israel’s religious school).
