Earlier this week I was honored to be invited to speak alongside my Akron rabbinic colleagues about Israel as the state looks forward to celebrating her 75th year. There is a lot to celebrate, but there is also as much concern for the future of Israel as there has ever been in her brief modern history. Last week I compared America's 75th year to Israel's. In America we were just a decade short of the beginning of our nation's Civil War. Some are claiming that Israel is in precisely the same place today. Join us this Shabbat as we begin the book of Leviticus, the middle book of Torah, and ask the question . . . "Are we in an age of civil war?"
